Preparation for Total Consecration Day 3

Today's readings are from pages 22-24 in the book which you can find here

No sin is bigger than the mercy of God, if we open ourselves to it. The heart of Christian morality is abandoning ourselves to the mercy of God so that we might be transformed and renewed by Him. There is no one, absolutely no one, who has or can do anything so bad that this mercy is unavailable to Him, but it does require that we accept it. It also requires that we are obedient to Him, surrendering our lives and our wills to His care, knowing that He seeks only what is for our greatest good.

“As all our perfection consists in being conformed, united, and consecrated to Jesus, the most perfect devotion is, naturally, that which conforms, unites, and consecrates us most perfectly to Him. As all our perfection consists in being conformed, united, and consecrated to Jesus, the most perfect devotion is, naturally, that which conforms, unites, and consecrates us most perfectly to Him.” – St. Luis de Montfort, True Devotion to Mary

Of all the human beings to walk on earth, Mary was the most perfected in obedience to the will of God. This did not happen on her own, but happened because she abandoned herself to God’s mercy completely and perfectly and presented no obstacles to His work in her. Think of the soul as a circuit. A completed circuit presents no impediments to the electricity attempting to flow through it, and the light shines perfectly. A broken circuit stops the current and the light remains unseen.

If we wish to become like Mary, a completed circuit where the current of God’s grace passes freely through us just as it did in her, we must seek her and ask her to teach us. She is happy to do so, for like most mothers it is her greatest desire that all people should know her son. She desires what her son desires most, and that is that all souls should be saved and should find their way to heaven.
