Help for Budding Catholic Authors

Every Catholic who pays any kind of attention at all to the statements of the Popes (and if you are Catholic and aren't paying attention, may I ask why you aren't?) knows that we have not only a duty but an obligation to step out and enter into the new evangelization.  We need to become a part of reaching more people and helping to convert them to Christ, not just because this will make our own lives better and our faith stronger, but because those souls NEED us even if they don't realize it.  Christ died for all our sins, and it is He who suffers in vain when they perish because we would not act.

In light of this, I am making it my personal mission to help Catholic authors and would-be authors do what most people wouldn't think of doing - write books.  I want the shelves of Barnes & Nobles and ordinary bookstores to overflow with the books of Catholic authors, authors who are faithful to Christ's teachings and who love their Church with the same passion that I do.  That's the real reason I launched my new website: http://40daywriter.com.  I've also started a writer's group here in Elko with my good friend, Cat Higgenbotham.

If you can find just 2 hours of time a day, you really can write a book in 40 days. You'll still need help proof reading, editing, designing a cover, and marketing the book after you've written it, but the rough draft can be in your hands in 40 days putting you miles ahead of almost every other person who wants to write a book.  Plus, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you can do it.

Both fiction and non-fiction are ways of reaching people who otherwise might never come to the Church.  Fiction has a particularly powerful ability to spark the imagination and draw people in to the wonders of the Church by allowing them to experience it through the eyes of a third party.  Non-fiction can show that the Church offers real world solutions to every problem they face. It's not just a bunch of rules and regulations, but a way of life that can and should touch everything you do.

If you are interested in learning how to write a book in 40 days, you can purchase my first book, How to Write an eBook in 40 Days (or less!) in the Amazon Kindle store.  For fiction writers, you can find my book, Creating a Character Backstory, in both the Amazon kindle store AND in print.
